普通化學課程之目標為:
(1) 教導學生基本的化學觀念、化學之原理及基礎理論、以及化學基礎之原理與理論在日常生活範例中之實際應用;
(2) 教導學生化學之專業術語及相關知識，並啟發學生對化學的興趣;
(3) 提高學生對英語教科書的閱讀能力;
(4) 培養學生定期閱讀及熟習課本之習題;
(5) 培養學生獨立解決問題及計算之能力。普通化學課程內涵包括:基本的化學觀念、化學之原理及基礎理論、以及化學之實際應用

The goals of the general chemistry course are:
(1) Teach students the basic chemistry concepts, the principles and basic theories of chemistry, as well as the actual application of basic chemistry principles and theoretical theories in daily life examples;
(2) Teach professional academic language and related knowledge in biochemistry, and stimulate students' interest in chemistry;
(3) Improve students' reading ability of English textbooks;
(4) Cultivate students to read and familiarize with the topics of course books regularly;
(5) Cultivate students' ability to solve problems independently and calculate. The connotation of the general chemistry course includes: basic chemistry concepts, principles and basic theories of chemistry, and the actual application of chemistry.

介紹化學的基本原理及概念，以期為高年級化學及物理、生命科學、工程等領域相關課程做基礎準備。
