一、課程目標
本課程目標在於提供大乘佛教哲學的基本知識與哲學觀點,分別從歷史發展、哲學發展與文獻研讀方面進行。重點在於養成學生對相關哲學議題的敏銳觀察、興趣與熱情,並從中取得能夠回饋於各種生命情境當中源源不斷的鼓舞與支援。
二、課程內涵
(1)歷史發展部分,希望了解大乘佛教思想如何從印度文化脈絡與小乘佛教思想當中發展生成,以及大乘佛教內部分裂為中觀、唯識乃至於後續演變為兩者之間更為複雜的細緻分化,以及它們分別在藏地與漢地的傳遞。(2)除了掌握大乘佛教有別於其他印度思潮與小乘佛教哲學的特殊觀點之外,能夠區分大乘佛教內部主要哲學歧見,以及其間所涉核心的問題意識,更要從當代意識中去回顧這些這哲學歧見在當代佛教內部與外部溝通之中,以及我們當代生活挑戰之中的意義。(3)文獻研讀方面,我們從龍樹《中論》之中選擇部分篇章,以從原典閱讀中涵養第一手知識,並搭配當代研究分析,觀摩國際學界的研究取徑。
1. Course objectives
The purpose of this course is to provide basic knowledge and philosophy of Mahayana Buddhist philosophy, which are carried out separately from historical development, philosophical development and literary research. The focus is on fostering students' sensitive observation, interest and enthusiasm for related philosophical issues, and obtaining continuous encouragement and support from various life situations.
2. Course content
(1) The historical development part hopes to understand how Mahayana Buddhist thought developed and generated from the Indian cultural ensemble and Hinayana Buddhist thought, as well as the more complex and detailed differentiation between the two, and their transmission in Tibet and Han. (2) In addition to mastering the special views that Mahayana Buddhism is different from other Indian thoughts and Hinayana Buddhist philosophy, we can divide the main philosophical differences within Mahayana Buddhism and the core problem-related ideas, and we must also review the meanings of these philosophical differences in the internal and external communication of contemporary Buddhism and the challenges of our contemporary life from the contemporary idea. (3) In terms of literary research, we select some chapters from Longshu's "Zhongshu" to integrate first-hand knowledge from the original reading, and combine it with contemporary research and analysis to view the research of the international academic community.
