在實踐方面，透過觀察藝術作品和文本分析的方式來訓練自我思想的能力，以及對圖像與意涵之間關聯的敏感度，以此加深個人對視覺藝術存在價值的了解，以及創作內涵的層次。The development of art history is not a single linear evolution. 本課程範圍分為兩部分。第一部分為古典西洋美術史，以時序發展為主，涵蓋範圍從史前文明至十九世紀印象派。第二部分著重在現代主義，以運動、派別及形式等作為主要分類。
