本課程旨在探索西洋戲劇發展歷程,以及其中具有代表性的表演形式和知名創作。
本課程之目標有三:
引導學生深入鑑識西方各種表演形式之間的連結。
開發學生對西方劇場的問題意識和研究向度。

本課程上學期以東方劇場作為主要內容,介紹中國戲劇的起源、發展與變化,以及不同時期的戲劇作品及劇場表現形式。希望能透過戲劇史的勾勒奠定學生相關的知識基礎,一方面能理解各個時期的戲劇特色,或者也可能在觀看與對話的過程中累積與觸動未來創作上的能量與靈感。
課程前半段以古典戲曲為授課內容,從初級戲曲的原始面貌以至當代戲曲如何與當代劇場美學結合。戲曲作為一種跨領域的綜合性表演,最大特色在於詩歌舞結合,並以抒情為本位;敷演情節之外,更重視情感的抒發並藉以引起觀眾共鳴。此外,戲曲特有的行當制(如:生旦淨末丑)、寫意性的表現手法(如:一桌二椅)以及結合各類表演藝術(唱曲、雜耍、科諢等)的豐富型態,都是其動人的特色與內涵。本課程將帶領同學理解中國戲曲獨特的審美內涵,以及隨著歷史變遷而開展出的不同劇場形式與表演內容。
課程後半段則進入現代戲劇的討論,將從二十世紀初受到西方思潮影響之下而產生的現代話劇,一路走到台灣當代劇場百花齊放的各式劇場表演。這部分的課程內容除了勾勒現代戲劇的發生與演變,更聚焦於當代戲劇在各種時代條件的刺激與影響之下所呈現的多元樣貌。戲劇歷史的爬梳、劇本的閱讀與討論、劇場環境的觀察與分析,這一切巡禮終將走向戲劇的實際創作與評論;期待在不同劇場時空與戲劇文本往返行旅的過程能有所收穫與積累,並將之轉化為表演與創作的源泉。
In the last semester of this course, the Oriental Theater was the main content, introducing the origin, development and changes of Chinese drama, as well as drama works and theater expression forms in different periods. It is hoped that through the outline of the history of the drama, it can lay the knowledge of students related to the knowledge. The first half of the course is based on classical operas, from the original appearance of junior opera to how contemporary opera is combined with contemporary theater aesthetics. As a cross -domain comprehensive performance, opera, the biggest feature is the combination of poetry and dancing, and is lyricized; in addition to the plot, pay more attention to the expression of emotion and resonate with the audience. In addition, the unique system of opera (such as: Shengdan Jing Mo ugly), freehand expression (such as: one table, two chairs), and the rich style of combined with various performance arts (singing, juggling, science, etc.) It is its moving characteristics and connotation. This course will lead students to understand the unique aesthetic connotation of Chinese opera, as well as different theater forms and performance content carried out with historical changes.
The second half of the course enters the discussion of modern drama. Modern dramas that will occur from the influence of Western thoughts in the early 20th century will go all the way to various theater performances in Taiwan's contemporary theater. In addition to outline the occurrence and evolution of modern drama, this part of the course is also focused on the diverse appearance of contemporary drama under the stimulation and influence of various era conditions.
