[東海大學社會研究所 碩博士班課程] 身體、文化與社會 授課教師:鄭斐文 副教授 fcheng@go.thu.edu.tw [本課程大綱將會隨著修課同學研究需求而作微調,請依照第一次上課時所發的授課大綱為主。第一節課為] 一、課程簡介 關於身體的文化與社會理論涵蓋很廣,80年代開始,在文化研究、女性主義理論、社會學、醫療社會學、STS等研究中,都已經有許多豐富成果與討論。早期的社會學反對生物化約論與生物決定論,並指出身體是社會建構的場欲。到了80 年代,美國社會學者提出社會學忽略了身體議題以及身體的物質性,並指出身體社會學需要關注於「體現化」議題(embodiment)。所謂的肉體化牽涉到的,是要挑戰身體與社會、自然與文化、物質與非物質的啟蒙二元對立關係。「身體」的「本質」問題也同時出現在女性主義、實在論等討論中。例如,女性主義者從Sex/gender的二分問題中探討生物學上的性化的身體(sexed body)如何被社會性的建構。傅柯的性史探討了現代個人主體的生產,與個人身體及性論述的關係。而這種對於embodiment與物質性的強調,是身體社會學學者主張的關鍵概念,此與文化研究、後現代主義的觀點在「實有」或「建構」的認識論基礎有所不同。 一般說來,身體社會學的學者(Shilling, Turner, Williams等人)強調具體化的概念,並且批評後結構主義者與女性主義者如Butler忽略了身體的「物質性」與具體經驗,批評後結構、後現代學者落入文本主義中,這牽涉到批判實在論與社會建構論之間的諸多認識論辯論。本課程以「身體社會學」命名,但欲解構英美學界的「身體社會學」,藉由回顧女性主義、身體社會學與文化研究、醫療社會學的「身體」研究,來重新定義「身體社會學者」一詞。本課程將以身體社會學與文化研究、後結構主義、女性主義等的不同身體研究主題,每週列出不同的單元逐一探討,並介紹不同取向的身體認識論之差異。同時,本課程也兼顧同學論文寫作需要,找出不同主題的論文研究成果,讓同學得以應用在論文寫作之中 [Doctoral Course, Institute of Social Studies, Donghai University] Body, culture and society Teaching teacher: Zheng Feiwen Associate Professor fcheng@go.thu.edu.tw [This course will be adjusted according to the research needs of classmates in the course. Please follow the courses you gave when you first took the course. The first class is] 1. Course introduction The cultural and social theory of the body are very broad. Since the 1980s, there have been many rich achievements and discussions in cultural studies, feminism theory, social studies, medical society, STS and other studies. Early sociology opposed biochemical debates and biological decisions and pointed out that the body is a desire for social construction. In the 1980s, American socialists suggested that society ignored the body's discussion and the physical nature of the body, and pointed out that body society needs to focus on the "embodiment". What the so-called flesh transformation involves is to challenge the dual relationship between the body and society, nature and culture, material and non-material. The "essence" problem of "body" also appears in discussions such as feminism and actual discussion. For example, female ideologues explore how biologically sexualized bodies are socially constructed from the binary question of Sex/gender. Fu Ke's sexual history explores the production of modern personal subjects and their relationship with personal bodies and sexual statements. This emphasis on Embodiment and materiality is a key concept advocated by physical social students. This is different from the perspective of cultural research and postmodernism in the recognition theory of "actual existence" or "construction". Generally speaking, students of body society (Shilling, Turner, Williams, etc.) emphasize the concept of concreteness, and criticize post-structors and female theorists such as Butler ignore the "materiality" and concrete experience of the body. Criticize post-structors and post-modern scholars fall into textualism, which involves criticizing the multi-disciplinary argument between arguments and social construction. This course is named after "body society", but to explain the "body society" in the British and American circles, we will redefine the term "body society" by referring to the "body society" research in female theory, body society and cultural studies, and medical society. This course will list different body research topics such as body social and cultural studies, post-structuralism, and feminism. Each week, different units will be discussed one by one, and introduce differences in body cognition discussions of different orientations. At the same time, this course also addresses the needs of students' writing, find out the research results of different topics, so that students can apply them in writing.
