本課程主要介紹當代新儒家熊十力,其與歐陽竟無學唯識學,而轉為儒家,其主要作品有新唯識論,原儒,及讀經示要,其重要性在於,開出當代新儒家,其三位重要弟子,唐君毅,牟宗三,徐復觀,對於儒家的現代化有幫助,如把民主科學融於儒家之中;至於熊先生本人,在文革時期,留在大陸,寫出原儒,獨尊孔子,這是當時不得已之舉,此課程對熊十力做一介紹

This course mainly introduces Xiong Shili, a contemporary new Confucian, who had no learning and only learning with Europe and Yang, but turned into Confucianism. His main works include new and only understanding, original Confucianism, and reading instructions. The importance lies in the development of contemporary new Confucianism. The three important disciples, Tang Junyi, Mou Zongsan, and Xu Yao, were helpful to the modernization of Confucianism, such as integrating democratic science into Confucianism. As for Mr. Xiong himself, during the Cultural Revolution, he stayed in the mainland, wrote the original Confucianism, and respected Confucius alone. This was a last resort. This course introduces Xiong Shili.
