中國文化號稱有五千年的歷史，而漢字的發生距今至少有四千年，是所謂四大文明古國中唯一沒有中斷過的書體。本課程應用淺白的語言分析，講授漢字字原，由文字的形義特色和流變，歸納中國上古文化的基本狀況，從而提供同學落實「科學整理國故」的一些思辨方法。Chinese culture claims to have a history of 5,000 years, and the occurrence of Chinese characters is at least four thousand years ago.
