本課程探討寫作音樂學術論文的原則,上半學期我們以不同文類、時代的短篇文學作品介紹摘要、大綱、導論、結論、參考書目的寫法。下半學期我們討論寫作音樂論文的相關議題,例如正確引用文本(direct & indirect quote, footnote, paraphrase)的方法,引音樂家傳記,和寫作樂曲解說、樂曲分析、導聆、演說式音樂會(lecture recital)的原則。
This course offers an introduction to selected strategies for academic writing on the undergraduate level. The first half of the semester devote to the writing of summary, outline, thesis, introduction, and conclusion. We will spend 1-2 week on each topic, using literary works in Chinese as our writing samples. In the second half of the semester, we will focus on issues specifically pertaining to the writing of music, e.g., the citation of information from a composer’s biography, as well as the writing of music analysis, program notes, and prec-concert lecture.
This course explores the principles of writing musical essays. In the first half of the year, we introduced the abstract, topic, discussion, conclusion and reference writing methods using short literary works from different types and eras. In the second half of the school, we discuss the related topics of writing musical essays, such as the method of correctly quoting text (direct & indirect quote, footnote, paraphrase), quoting musicians' transcription, and the principles of writing musical misinterpretation, music analysis, listening, and speaking musical music associations (leading music).
