教育目標 Course Target

本課程欲介紹二十世紀初法國社會學家涂爾幹(E. Durkheim)的思維與當代 社會之關連。課程性質上偏思想史之考究,最後返回當代社會對台灣現況之關 心。教學主題上,將從涂爾幹的幾類主軸研究介紹起(預設修課同學已習得涂氏 之基本理論學說),探討其思想在法境學界之相關影響。而涂氏重要門人(涂爾幹 學派)的學說因繼承涂氏之理論觀點或研究路數,亦開展出新的研究面向:如記 憶社會學等文化方面之旨趣。涂爾幹學派不只在社會學界具有傳承意義,即使在 史學界或思想界亦有相關的引伸。在與年鑑學派的對話中,讓我們試圖比較涂派 結構主義與年鑑史家布勞岱(F. Braudel)等人長時段手法對社會結構的掌握。另 外,晚近的「後結構主義」旗手傅柯(M. Foucault)在畢生的研究旨趣中,亦能見 其對結構主義的反省。這是一條從涂爾幹追溯的「結構主義」思想系譜。 除了深度社會思想史的耙梳外,本課將設計田野作業,藉由同學對台灣社會 的觀察,活用涂爾幹的思維觀點。企求達到學以致用之功效。

教授對象:適合大二、三、四同學選修(歡迎碩班同學旁聽)

This course aims to introduce the relationship between the thinking of the French sociologist E. Durkheim in the early twentieth century and contemporary society. The nature of the course focuses on the study of intellectual history, and finally returns to contemporary society's concerns about the current situation in Taiwan. As for the teaching theme, we will start with an introduction to Durkheim's several main types of research (it is assumed that students taking this course have already acquired Tu's basic theories), and explore the relevant influence of his thoughts in the field of legal studies. The theories of Tu's important disciples (the Durkheim School) inherited Tu's theoretical viewpoints or research methods, and also developed new research directions: such as the sociology of memory and other cultural interests. The Durkheim School not only has inheritance significance in the sociology world, but also has related extensions in the history and ideological circles. In the dialogue with the Annales School, let us try to compare the Tu School structuralism with the long-term approach to social structure of Annales historian F. Braudel and others. In addition, M. Foucault, the recent standard-bearer of "post-structuralism", can also see his reflection on structuralism in his lifelong research interests. This is a genealogy of "structuralist" thought that traces back to Durkheim. In addition to an in-depth review of the history of social thought, this class will design fieldwork to make use of Durkheim's thinking and perspectives through students' observations of Taiwanese society. Aim to achieve the effect of applying what you have learned.

Target audience: Suitable for sophomores, juniors, and seniors as electives (Master’s students are welcome to observe)
