本課程主要是想透過一些國際媒體雜誌,例如:Economist、Time、CNN,來作為上課教材。讓同學們能夠掌握到國際時事的變化與潮流;並且能夠進一步地去增強本身的英文能力。在過往的教學經驗中,發現到同學們對於國際時事的發生比較漠不關心,往往無法了解到現在最新的時事發展,造成授課時的困難;再加上,英文為國際性的語言,同學們對於國際時事的漠不關心,也有可能是受限於英文能力的不足。因此,透過閱讀國際英文媒體,可以一方面增進同學們的英文能力,同時,也可避免閱讀翻譯過的中文可能參雜了其他人的主觀意識在其中,因此帶來的不客觀、不中立的假新聞。This course mainly wants to use some international media magazines, such as Economist, Time, CNN, as the course textbook. Allow students to master the changes and trends of international affairs; and further enhance their English abilities. In past teaching experience, I found that classmates were more indifferent to international affairs and often could not understand the latest developments in current affairs, which caused difficulties in teaching; in addition, English is an international language, and students' indifference to international affairs may also be limited by their lack of English abilities. Therefore, by reading international English media, students can improve their English abilities on the one hand, and at the same time, it can also avoid reading translated Chinese may involve other people's subjective ideas, and thus bring unobjective and non-neutral fake news.
