This course aims to provide a through training for students to learn the basic knowledge and tools for data analysis and statistical programming. With step-by-step instruction and practice, students get to learn how to master a complete set of research tools, including managing data sets, creating and changing variables, producing graphics, writing statistical programs, performing regression and quantitative analyses. 本課程教授數據分析方法及程式寫作技巧,並以經濟學實例,講述基礎計量分析的應用。課程內容以經濟學及社會科學常用的統計軟體STATA為主,採實例講授與實機操作方式,介紹資料管理、變數運算、圖表製作、程式寫作及數據分析等技巧,執行經濟學常用的計量模型、估計、檢定、多變量分析及迴歸分析等應用。課程規劃訓練學生除了具有程式寫作及使用各項數據分析工具能力外,並可進一步討論及剖析數據背後的意涵。
This course teaches data analysis methods and program writing skills, and uses economic examples to describe the application of basic quantitative analysis. The course content is mainly based on the STATA, a commonly used statistical software commonly used in economics and social sciences. It adopts examples of teaching and machine operation methods, introduces techniques such as data management, variable calculation, chart production, program writing and data analysis, and performs applications such as measurement models, estimation, confirmation, multi-variance analysis and replication analysis in economics.
