1. The senior play is a fourth year elective and Tunghai FLLD tradition wherein seniors put on a theater production.
2. Students will not only act in the play, but work together on everything that happens backstage such as creating sets, designing costumes, doing makeup, creating lighting effects and making decisions on music and staging. Students will also fundraise (with the money raised and donated), create, and manage a budget for the production.
3. The instructor will take a backseat once the initial schedule has been implemented so that students will have the opportunity to take the reigns and work and bring together a successful production mostly by themselves.

Senior Play is a two-semester elective course for fourth-year students. Tunghai FLLD has a tradition of producing a Senior Play in English and this has been formalized in an actual course. Students will begin with an examination of a play, read the carefully-edited text, and begin casting in October. The play will be blocked in scenes and sections, all of which must be rehearsed independently. The various parts will be connected in December, and a full-length production without costumes will be ready before Lunar New Year. After the Lunar Break, work will be carried out preparing scenery, music and costumes. Rehearsals and dress rehearsals will take place in April, and the play will be performed in early May. The instructor will teach body movement on stage, and voice projection.
