In Oral Training I second semester, students will learn to
(1)speak publicly and academically with confidence,
(2)listen to public speaking critically, responsively, and objectively,
(3)express ideas and present information in a smooth, understandable and organized fashion,
(4)speak articulately to inform public audiences,
(5)participate in discussions,
(6)come up with persuasive ideas,
(7)debate with others.
The second semester of the course is focused on public speaking about a specific issue, how to do impromptu speeches, how to persuade others and the methods of debating. Students will do activities both in and out of class to help them gain confidence and fluency for speaking in English in front of their classmates and teachers. Further, students will have to prepare and do researches on a debatable topic. Students will have to learn how to come up with reasons that are persuasive to others and fight for their own stand.
