探討各時代中外膠彩畫家作品之表現形式及創作內涵的轉變軌跡，進行作品風格的討論賞析與實作實驗；透過保存修復觀點與古典技法的實踐，深化作品表現技術與價值。一、經由近現代畫家創作和生涯的介紹，探討並瞭解作品風格與創作者之間的關係，並探討個人創作與美學、美術史之間的關聯性。。二、引導創作力與完成度的磨練，並透過密集與大型作品的創作，分析並體驗材料特性與製作的研究經驗，延伸出個人多樣表現的可能性，以期激發潛能和完成系列作品的創作表現能力。三、藉由各類箔的厚薄、軟脆等特性，以及箔的各種色彩堆疊、拍打等各式技法的表現，豐富畫面表現可能性。加強學生對箔的基礎認識與應用方法之活潑度，學習質感變化中各種方法的交互使用。四、保存修復價值觀的建立。
