教育目標 Course Target

科技指的是知識(know-how)。這知識是關於使用、設計、維修物體和硬體,它的傳播可能是視覺形象的,可能是觀察、練習、操作的,也可能是口傳教授與書寫閱讀的~~(Mackenzie and Wajcman, 1985)。 近幾年來,科學、技術與社會((Science, Technology and Society,簡稱STS)研究與科技與醫療(STM)在歐洲與美國已經成為相當重要的學門。科技與社會的領域出現,受到知識社會學、科學史、科學哲學、醫療社會學與女性主義理論、後結構主義、後現代主義的影響,具有跨學科研究的性質,從認識論與方法論的角度打破學科之間的藩籬。台灣與歐美的STS的研究,已經包括有歷史學、社會學、哲學、公共衛生、政治、醫學與科學專業背景的學術研究,主題也涵蓋了傳統的社會學次領域,包括,身體社會學、醫療社會學、文化與視覺研究、性別研究、知識社會學、歷史社會學、人類學等。不只是在學術討論,STS研究也強調實作、日常生活經驗與常民生活感受等面向,因此在STS研究也已經衍生到許多實作與設計層次,如都市規劃、法庭、空污監測、適當科技、助產士運動等等。 STS研究強調科學技術與社會文化兩者之間具有交錯共構的關係,因此首先要打破科技與社會的二元對立。由於STS研究也大略可以分為「科學、技術與社會」以及「科學、技術與醫療」(STM)兩部分,本課程將分成此兩部分做介紹。第一部分以科技、醫療與性別為主要切入,第二部分是以技術物的政治性為討論主軸。在此兩部分之外,第三部分將整理STS理論,包括社會世界理論、ANT 理論與SSK等。此外,本課程也將著重於性別、文化與科技方面的文獻。 Technology refers to knowledge (know-how). This knowledge is about the use, design, repair of objects and hardware. Its transmission may be visual, observation, practice, operation, oral professors and books reading~~~~(Mackenzie and Wajcman, 1985). In recent years, science, technology and society (Science, Technology and Society, referred to as STS, Research and Technology and Medicine (STM) has become a very important school in Europe and the United States. The field of science and society has emerged and is known as intellectual society, scientific history, scientific philosophy, medical society and feminism. The influence of theory, post-construction and post-modernism has the nature of interdisciplinary research, breaking the vassal between subjects from the perspective of cognitive theory and methodology. Research on STS in Taiwan and Europe and the United States has included history, society, philosophy, public health, Academic research with a professional background in politics, medicine and science, and the topic also covers traditional social sub-fields, including physical society, medical society, cultural and visual research, gender research, intellectual society, historical society, humanity, etc. Not just in In academic discussion, STS research also emphasizes the aspects of practice, daily life experience and ordinary people's life experience. Therefore, STS research has also been derived to many implementation and design levels, such as urban planning, courts, air pollution monitoring, appropriate technology, assistance to the labor force, etc. STS research emphasizes that there is a common relationship between scientific technology and social culture, so we must first break the duality between science and technology and society. Since STS research can also be roughly divided into two parts: "Science, Technology and Society" and "Science, Technology and Medicine" (STM), this course will be divided into these two parts for introduction. The first part focuses on technology, medicine and gender, and the second part focuses on the political nature of technology. In addition to these two parts, the third part will organize STS theories, including social world theory, ANT theories, SSK, etc. In addition, this course will also focus on cultural aspects of gender, culture and technology.
