本課程針對已修習過微生物課程之碩、博士班學生，進行環境微生物特定議題之專題討論與深入性文獻/專書回顧。議題著重在與環境工程或環境衛生相關之相關的微生物知識，除熟悉各項環境中微生物的種類、數目、功能及影響其生長的條件外，並學習微生物之暴露評估與控制，如：微生物環境監測技術、消毒控制效能評估、風險分析等方面。此外，本課程將以專書或學術文獻為題材進行研讀，強化學生對環境微生物學術論文/專書之瞭解與技術評估的認知，並透過解析環測數據與文獻探討完成書面報告。

This course is aimed at master's and doctoral students who have taken microbiology courses. It provides special discussions and in-depth literature/book reviews on specific environmental microbiology topics. Topics focus on microbial knowledge related to environmental engineering or environmental sanitation. In addition to becoming familiar with the types, numbers, functions and conditions that affect their growth in various environments, students will also learn about exposure assessment and control of microorganisms, such as microbial environmental monitoring technology, disinfection control effectiveness assessment, risk analysis, etc. In addition, this course will study special books or academic literature to strengthen students' understanding and technical evaluation of academic papers/books on environmental microbiology, and complete written reports through analysis of environmental testing data and literature discussion.

使學生進一步瞭解環境工程領域中相關微生物種類、功能及影響其生長的條件外，並強調微生物之鑑定，厭氧性微生物之培養及生質能源之生產，並探討與公共衛生有關的病源性微生物問題，同時介紹分子生物學在環境工程上之應用。

In addition to enabling students to further understand the relevant microbial types, functions and conditions affecting their growth in the field of environmental engineering, it also emphasizes the identification of microorganisms, the cultivation of anaerobic microorganisms and the production of biomass energy, and explores pathogenic microbial issues related to public health. It also introduces the application of molecular biology in environmental engineering.
