張愛玲的研究自傅雷開始，已有七十多年歷史，有關張的評價已有些改變，如果說1995至世紀交替是張研究的爆發年，那麼新世紀初是舊作出土年，隨著中文作品《同學少年都不賤》、《康乃馨》…到《小團圓》；英文譯作也陸續推出《易經》、《雷峰塔》、《少帥》……，她的中文書寫夾帶著神秘的魅力，新的「張奶奶迷」轉移到對岸，如此「張學」的版圖更為擃大，作品更為複雜，本課程以前期作品與晚期作品對照交叉研究，並以其傳記書寫研究為基底，並搭配相關理論，以顯其重要性與複雜性。Zhang Ailing's research has been around for more than 70 years since Fu Lei, and the reviews of Zhang have changed a bit.
