1. 配合高中基礎生物下冊第四單元內容，讓同學學習遺傳學實驗技巧，並藉由實驗結果印證孟德爾與摩根的遺傳學理論，並讓同學學習基本的動物(大麥蟲/麵包蟲、恐龍蝦與果蠅)飼育技巧，培養進行活體實驗時之細心與耐心。延伸課程由東海大學教授授課，除果蠅染色體觀察外，帶入分子生物學課程。
2. 透過動物飼養繁殖的實驗，讓同學了解族群特徵，並透過演化實驗、桌遊的引導，了解動物演化原理與過程；延伸課程由東海大學教授授課，帶入族群遺傳學、演化與生態課程。1.
