This is a joint course jointing offered by a faculty member of Seinan Gakuin University, Japan. We wish to communicate with students worldwide through the internet. We believe that it will help students to better understand the diversity of cultures, know the views of young people from other societies, and make friends with young people all over the world. While normal visits and meetings by travel incur many costs, collaboration via the internet costs comparatively little. We can give all students the chance to talk with foreign students worldwide. In this course, THU students will have a chance to share their opinions and ideas with SGU students. We are going to discuss some current events and popular issues around the world. We will have video conferencing and Skype meetings with Japanese students. With these meaningful activities and discussion, we believe that students can express themselves confidently, embrace the world in a more flexible way and respect the differences in diverse cultures.
本課程主要是以英語討論時事及熱門話題，讓學生能夠使用英語做有意義的溝通與表達意見，並學習尊重多元不同的意見。在學期中會與日本西南大學學生透過網路視訊會議討論時事。

This course mainly discusses current affairs and hot topics in English, allowing students to communicate meaningfully and express opinions in English, and learn to respect diverse and different opinions. During the semester, current affairs will be discussed through online video conferencing with students from Southwest University in Japan.
