東海新村,一個以“新”為名的住宿學習區,是孕育“新”鮮人成為“新”東海人的園地,致力重現東海宏通教育的內涵,引領學生從人文的角度看科學,從科學的角度認識人文的本體,從閱讀經典名著中長養出批判思考力,從親手實作中體會同儕共事團隊合作的歸屬感,建構出屬於你自己獨特的知識思維模式。
我們將從探索並設計屬於個人的大學的生涯學習開始,深入的認識東海創校所重視的宏通教育,學習自主規劃大學新生活。從住宿生活中長養內涵,從同儕相處中歷練品性,從冒險教育中體驗逆境,從課外社團的參與中擴展人際,從國際的交流機會中認識東西文化,成為懂得規劃大學生活,知道如何運用學習資源,經歷成功的大學生活,成為具全球視野的知識自由人。
連貫一整個學期的系列課程,培訓學生成為自己的生命設計師,明白人生不只一個解決方案,沒有標準答案是好事。人生可以有各種設計,每一種設計都能帶來希望,你可以過著有創意、不斷開展、值得體驗的人生。人生不是死的,而是一種體驗,設計並享受那個體驗,將帶來無限樂趣。在過程中學會設計生命需要五種心態,分別是「好奇心」(當個好奇寶寶)、「行動導向」(試一試)、「重擬問題」、「覺察」(一切都是過程, 重點是「放手」)、「通力合作」。
Donghai New Village, a residential learning area named after "New", is a garden that nurtures "new" fresh people to become "new" Donghai people. It is committed to reproducing the connotation of Donghai Hongtong Education, leading students to see science from a humanistic perspective, understand the ontology of humanities from a scientific perspective, develop critical thinking skills from reading classics, experience the sense of belonging of peer collaboration and teamwork through hands-on practice, and construct your own unique intellectual thinking model.
We will start from exploring and designing a personal university career study, gain a deep understanding of the Hongtong education that Donghai founded, and learn to independently plan a new university life. Cultivate connotation from dormitory life, experience character from interacting with peers, experience adversity from adventure education, expand interpersonal relationships from participation in extracurricular clubs, understand Eastern and Western cultures from international exchange opportunities, become a person who knows how to plan university life, know how to use learning resources, experience a successful university life, and become an intellectually free person with a global perspective.
A series of courses that lasts for an entire semester, training students to become their own life designers and understand that there is more than one solution in life, and it is a good thing that there is no standard answer. Life can have various designs, and each design can bring hope. You can live a life that is creative, constantly evolving, and worth experiencing. Life is not dead, it is an experience, and designing and enjoying that experience will bring endless fun. Learning to design life in the process requires five mental states, namely "curiosity" (be a curious baby), "action orientation" (try it), "reformulate the problem", "awareness" (everything is a process, the focus is "letting go"), and "cooperation".
