本課程乃練習課＋討論課之綜合，亦即，透過文本理解、分析之練習，探討啟蒙運動的核心精神及其對當代的影響。為此，本課程選讀的文本分為兩部分：啟蒙運動及當代相關哲學著作。於啟蒙運動哲學文本將選讀前期哲學家笛卡兒的〈談方法〉、後期哲學家康德〈答覆：何謂啟蒙？〉，於當代相關文本則選讀德國法蘭克福學派阿多諾和霍克海默合著的《啟蒙辯證》（選讀〈啟蒙概念〉）、法國當代哲學家傅柯後期針對康德〈答覆：何謂啟蒙？〉所寫的康德〈何謂啟蒙？〉。

This course is a combination of practice classes + discussion classes, that is, through text understanding and analysis exercises, it explores the core spirit of the Enlightenment and its impact on contemporary times. To this end, the texts selected for this course are divided into two parts: the Enlightenment and related contemporary philosophical works. Regarding the philosophical texts of the Enlightenment, we will read "On Method" by the early philosopher Descartes and "Answer: What is the Enlightenment" by the later philosopher Kant? 》, for relevant contemporary texts, read "Dialectic of Enlightenment" co-authored by Adorno and Horkheimer of the Frankfurt School in Germany (selected reading "Concept of Enlightenment"), and contemporary French philosopher Foucault's later "Reply: What is Enlightenment" on Kant? 〉Written by Kant "What is Enlightenment?" 〉.
