本課程除了介紹自上古以來,歷朝的醫藥學發展與代表著作外,同時利用通俗小說的部分情節,引領修課同學領略古代庶民生活中進行醫療活動的情況。每週課題將結合民眾生活與醫療活動,循歷史脈絡下探討傳統中國的醫學發展。課程內容包括:醫者與醫療活動、醫學知識的傳播、中醫學的身體觀、性別與醫療、保嬰與幼幼、祝由科與情志療法、養生與食療文化、邪祟與祟病、宗教醫療、中醫外科、檢驗與法醫學、衛生與醫療以及中國醫療的現代性等項目,帶領修課同學領略傳統中醫學的悠久傳承,並且與民眾生活息息相關的一面。In addition to introducing the development and representative works of the dynasty since ancient times, this course also uses some of the emotions of popular novels to guide students in the course of studying and discussing the medical activities carried out in the lives of ordinary people in ancient times.
