日光是萬物賴以生存並得以生生不息的重要元素之一；人造光的發明,更無限拓展了人類生活的型態。現代人早已無時無刻不處在光的環境中,而提供光照的「機能」已不再是光學應用的唯一選項,優質「光環境」的塑造,更是空間設計相關工作者的重要課題。
本課程期許學生藉由課堂內容之引導,培養其對「感光」的敏銳度,進而幫助學生對建築空間設計與相關材料應用有另一層次的思考。課堂將由探討日光與建築環境的關係談起,進而探究一個多世紀以來人照光的發展與應用,以多元的案例分享,啟發學生重新探索日常生活中習以為常的光與影, 發現光與媒材的相互關係與更多的潛在可能性。

Sunlight is one of the important elements that all things rely on to survive and thrive; the invention of artificial light has infinitely expanded the types of human life. Modern people are in a light environment all the time, and the "function" of providing light is no longer the only option for optical applications. The creation of a high-quality "light environment" is an important issue for workers related to space design.
This course hopes that students will develop their sensitivity to "light sensitivity" through the guidance of the classroom content, and then help students have another level of thinking about architectural space design and related material applications. The class will start by discussing the relationship between daylight and the built environment, and then explore the development and application of human lighting for more than a century. Sharing diverse cases will inspire students to re-explore the light and shadow they take for granted in daily life, and discover the relationship between light and media and more potential possibilities.
