本學期開設的藝術社會學經典閱讀，以早期藝術社會家Arnold Hauser的經典著作《藝術史的哲學》(The Philosophy of Art History,1958)為主要讀本。此書為藝術史研究的社會學轉向之代表性著作之一，並廣為觸及藝術研究的其他學門。課程將著重兩項學習要點：(一)藝術社會學的知識發展及其與其他學門之間的關連，包括藝術史、藝術哲學、審美、心理學、民俗學、通俗文化研究等等; （二）經典文獻的閱讀訓練：引導學生從中習得知識典範的問題意識與思考模式，同時鼓勵批判的閱讀方式。本書不啻西方藝術社會學理論系統的基礎，以及跨領域藝術研究的參照，並可應用於當代藝術文化的考察。The classical reading of the art society opened during this period is mainly based on the classical work "The Philosophy of Art History" by early art sociologist Arnold Hauser. This book is one of the representative works of the social sciences of artistic history research and is broadened to other schools in the field of art research. The course will focus on two key points of learning: (1) The intellectual development of art society and its connection with other academic departments, including art history, art philosophy, aesthetics, psychology, folk customs, popular culture research, etc.; (2) Reading and training of classical texts: guiding students to learn about the problem-based concepts and thinking patterns of learning classics, and at the same time encourage critical reading methods. This book is nothing more than a foundation of the Western art social theory system and a reference for cross-domain art research, and can be applied to the investigation of contemporary art culture.
