Sociology of Family
教育目標 Course Target
本門課程旨在從社會學、人口學的視角探討家庭制度及其內部的關係運作。不論貧、富、好、壞,社會中的大部分人都是家庭的一部分,而身為家庭中的一份子,我們需要關心家庭在社會中的意義與轉變、家庭成員之間的關係,以及家庭與其他制度之間的互動。從過去到現在,「家庭」是使其成員產生生理性或社會性的連結,也整合照顧與居住等功能的重要的社會制度,而且這些都將因時空而變化,而有多元的家庭樣貌。這一門課作為社會學系的大學部選修課,將帶領大家從四個部份來理解與討論「家庭」,大略分為:家庭的概念與變遷、家庭的形成與家庭關係、家庭與工作以及教育制度的關係、最後則討論更多元的家庭型態。在課程教材的選擇上,我將以許多社會學者對各種家庭議題的研究論文、專書章節為本,逐步帶領同學觀察與理解家庭的運作與變化。在課程進行上,將以老師講課為主,但每週安排同學導讀相關文本,以訓練同學自我閱讀、報告、引導討論的能力。
This course aims to explore the family system and its internal relationship operations from the perspectives of sociology and demography. Regardless of whether they are poor, rich, good or bad, most people in society are part of the family, and as a member of the family, we need to care about the meaning and transformation of the family in society, the relationship between family members, and the interaction between the family and other institutions. From the past to the present, "family" is an important social institution that creates physical or social connections between its members and integrates functions such as care and housing. Moreover, these will change with time and space, and there will be diverse family shapes. As an undergraduate elective course in the Department of Sociology, this course will lead students to understand and discuss "family" from four parts, roughly divided into: the concept and changes of family, family formation and family relationships, the relationship between family, work and education system, and finally, a discussion of more diverse family types. In the selection of course materials, I will be based on the research papers and book chapters of many sociologists on various family issues, and gradually lead the students to observe and understand the operations and changes of the family. During the course, teachers will give the main lectures, but students will be arranged to read relevant texts every week to train students in their ability to read, report, and lead discussions.
