人類與地球上的所有物種，都需要依賴地球的環境資源才得以生存和繁衍。而全世界人口在2017年已達到75億人，且聯合國估計在2100年將增加至112億人；經由工業革命洗禮之後，不但促進科技研發、資訊網路不斷地日新月異的發展，而且使得人們的生活型態產生巨大的變化。一方面使生活更為便利與舒適，另一方面也振興全球蓬勃的經濟發展。然而此發展趨勢的背後，意味著人們不斷地對於天然資源的過度使用與自然環境的過度開發。此外，伴隨全球環境與氣候變遷，未來對地球環境及資源將形成史所未見的衝擊。
然而永續環境發展是萬物存續的根本，生態維繫的關鍵，對於任何一個國家長期發展勢必成為未來重要的目標之一。所以面對全球性資源耗竭及環境變遷如此複雜的問題，我們需建立明確並具全面性的環境與資源管理目標，規劃可行性的最佳的策略方案，並透過政策制定、落實推動，才能進而達成永續發展的願景。

Human beings and all species on the earth depend on the earth's environmental resources to survive and reproduce. The world's population reached 7.5 billion in 2017, and the United Nations estimates that it will increase to 11.2 billion in 2100. After the baptism of the industrial revolution, it not only promoted technological research and development and the rapid development of information networks, but also caused huge changes in people's lifestyles. On the one hand, it makes life more convenient and comfortable, on the other hand, it also revitalizes the booming economic development around the world. However, behind this development trend, people continue to overuse natural resources and overexploit the natural environment. In addition, as the global environment and climate change, the future will have an unprecedented impact on the earth's environment and resources.
However, sustainable environmental development is the foundation for the survival of all things and the key to ecological maintenance. It is bound to become one of the important goals for the long-term development of any country in the future. Therefore, in the face of such complex problems as global resource depletion and environmental change, we need to establish clear and comprehensive environmental and resource management goals, plan the best feasible strategic plan, and promote it through policy formulation and implementation, in order to achieve the vision of sustainable development.

永續環境發展是萬物存續的根本，生態維繫的關鍵，對於任何一個國家長期發展勢必成為未來重要的目標之一。所以面對全球性資源耗竭及環境變遷如此複雜的問題，我們需建立明確並具全面性的環境與資源管理目標，規劃可行性的最佳的策略方案，並透過政策制定、落實推動，才能進而達成永續發展的願景。

Sustainable environmental development is the foundation for the survival of all things and the key to ecological maintenance.
