於台灣，一般所謂「法曹倫理」(legal ethics)，係指涉法官、檢察官以及律師三者，此乃廣義的法曹倫理，實則，法曹倫理本係以律師倫理為中心而發展，於此意義上，所謂狹義的法曹倫理係僅指涉律師倫理。本課程擬以狹義的法曹倫理為檢討對象，且聚焦於刑事辯護中所可能涉及之倫理議題。於課程中，擬視課程進行狀況，適度延請實務界人士一起參與課程討論、抑或進行專題演說，若情況允許，或可結合法律扶助基金會、抑或民間司改會規劃實習性課程。此課程，意欲深化履修者對於刑事辯護中所可能涉及之倫理議題之理論性與實務性基礎，與並提升其思考、分析、解決問題之能力。

In Taiwan, the so-called "legal ethics" generally refers to judges, prosecutors and lawyers. This is legal ethics in a broad sense. In fact, legal ethics is originally developed with lawyer ethics as the center. In this sense, the so-called legal ethics system in a narrow sense only refers to lawyer ethics.本課程擬以狹義的法曹倫理為檢討對象，且聚焦於刑事辯護中所可能涉及之倫理議題。 During the course, depending on the progress of the course, it is planned to appropriately invite practitioners from the field to participate in course discussions or give special speeches. If circumstances permit, practical courses may be planned in conjunction with the Legal Aid Foundation or the Civil Affairs Bureau. This course is intended to deepen the students' theoretical and practical foundations on ethical issues that may be involved in criminal defense, and to enhance their ability to think, analyze, and solve problems.
