在公共政策的領域中，交通政策一直是相當重要議題，且隨著當代永續發展思潮的興起，當代的交通政策議題顯得益發受到關注。有鑑於此，本課程擬從都會交通治理的思維，聚焦於都市交通政策以及運輸安全政策的探討。
本課程分為三大部分：
第一部分是《交通政策理論》，分別就交通政策的意義、我國交通政策的整體性回顧、以及永續運輸政策做一概念性的介紹；
第二部分是《都市交通政策》，主要將探究大眾運輸導向的交通政策，並針對台中市公車再發展以及免費公車政策的成效進行說明與討論，最後則是探討台鐵民營化政策等相關議題；
第三部分是《運輸安全政策》，主要將針對運輸科技與交通運輸安全政策進行討論，並針對都市運輸發展的重要政策做一整理討論；

In the field of public policy, transportation policy has always been a very important topic, and with the rise of contemporary continuous development ideas, contemporary transportation policy topics have gained attention. In this regard, this course focuses on the exploration of urban transportation policies and transportation safety policies.
This course is divided into three parts:
The first part is the "Traffic Policy Theory", which provides a conceptual introduction to the meaning of transportation policy, the overall review of our transportation policy, and the permanent transportation policy;
The second part is the "Urban Transportation Policy", which mainly explores the transportation-oriented transportation policies of the general public, and explains and discusses the redevelopment of Taichung buses and the effectiveness of the free bus policy. Finally, it is to explore related issues such as the Taiwan Iron Civilization Policy;
The third part is the Transportation Safety Policy, which mainly discusses transportation technology and transportation safety policies, and organizes and discusses important policies for urban transportation development;
