藉研究方法的介紹與研讀，報告的制作，充實學生在研究方法的
認識和瞭解。除了培養學生獨立研究的能力外，進一步奠定發現新知
的基礎。從假設的提出，主要變數的測量，資料的搜集、測試到解釋
分析，從質性和量化兩方面作實作的練習，並藉報告的寫作與檢討，
交換研究的心得。
二、主要內容 :
(一)、研究方法的介紹與討論，輔導學生提出假設，研究大綱的提出，
資料的搜集，和假設測試的能力。
(二)、強化學生從假設的提出，資料的搜集、測試、分析和解釋，的
獨立研究的能力。
(三)、輔導學生具有洞察力和想像力，作為創建新知的基礎。
(四)、藉由報告的寫作與檢討，強化研究的能力。

首先，辨別本體論、知識論（認識論）和方法論三者之間的不同。其次，探討政治學之研究發展及相關理論之演進。再者，研究質性和量化分析之內容和特性。第四，練習及掌握如何撰寫學術論文及研究計畫。
