教育目標 Course Target
本課程之目標:(1)使學生通過細讀原典以深入掌握遊戲之本質以及其與文化之關係。(2)引導學生對日常生活中的遊戲經驗進行哲學反思與分析。(3)透過課堂討論與書面報告以培養學生哲學思辯分析之能力。
本課程之內涵:遊戲是人類存有的一個重要現象。赫伊津哈(Johan Huizinga, 1872-1945)在1938年出版《遊戲的人》(Homo Ludens)一書,主張遊戲是形塑人類文化的原初要素。此書自出版後,成為文化史研究之歷久不衰的經典,甚至對於今日的遊戲研究(game studies)依舊具有一定程度的啟發性與影響力。譬如當代德國哲學家高達美(Hans-Georg Gadamer)在《真理與方法》(Wahrheit und Methode)裡論及遊戲的存有結構時,肯定赫伊津哈在《遊戲的人》一書中洞察到存有與遊戲的本質性關係。法國哲學家休維爾(Stéphane Chauvier)在《什麼是遊戲?》(Qu'est-ce qu'un jeu?)一書中,儘管對赫伊津哈的遊戲觀有所批評,但他自己所分析出來的遊戲本質性特徵大部分也都已在《遊戲的人》裡被揭露出來。僅僅由此即可看出,該書確實仍有其值得深入研讀之價值。本課程將以該書作為主要文本,並佐以補充當代相關論述,以助學生能更正面地理解遊戲之真諦。
The goals of this course: (1) To enable students to deeply understand the essence of games and their relationship with culture through careful reading of the original texts. (2) Guide students to conduct philosophical reflection and analysis on game experiences in daily life. (3) Cultivate students’ ability in philosophical thinking and analysis through classroom discussions and written reports.
The content of this course: Games are an important phenomenon in human existence. Johan Huizinga (1872-1945) published the book "Homo Ludens" (Homo Ludens) in 1938, arguing that games are the original elements that shape human culture. Since its publication, this book has become an enduring classic in cultural history research, and it still has a certain degree of inspiration and influence on today's game studies. For example, when the contemporary German philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer discussed the existential structure of games in "Wahrheit und Methode" (Wahrheit und Methode), he affirmed Huizinga's insight into the essential relationship between existence and games in "The Gamers". French philosopher Stéphane Chauvier wrote in "What is a Game?" (Qu'est-ce qu'un jeu?), although there are criticisms of Huizinga's view of games, most of the essential characteristics of games analyzed by him have been revealed in "The Gamer". From this alone, we can see that the book still has value worthy of in-depth study. This course will use this book as the main text, and supplement it with contemporary relevant discussions to help students understand the true meaning of games more positively.
