《哲學論稿》堪稱海德格繼《存有與時間》（Sein und Zeit, Being and Time）之後的第二部主要著作，他以短文式的論述，由〈前瞻》開始，中間的六道接縫和音樂般的賦格（Fugen）為主旋律，最後以〈存有〉作結尾，組成海德格中期哲學（1930年代及其後）以後對存有歷史的思維。該書是海德格思想「轉向」的重要著作，從基礎存有論轉向離基，從超越到居有（Ereignen）的合而為一，從傳統哲學的運思方式到以創作（詩）進行哲學思維方式的革新、以語言踐行存有真理。本課程將透過研讀與專題口報的討論瞭解海德格中期哲學如何徹底地克服主體形上學，如何存有本身的時間性（存有真理）直接追問存有本身。基於海德格中期哲學的轉向以及以創作所進行哲思方式的革新，不僅開啟了當代哲學的新頁，海德格也給出藝術和真理之間的關係新的規定。
由於《哲學論稿》是對《存有與時間》的重新思考，加上它支離破碎、迴旋重覆的論述方式，使得海德格哲學的入門者於進入《哲學論稿》時頗困難，因此有必要借助課程的引導與共同的研讀和討論，以瞭解：
1. 海德格中期哲學的特徵與方法特質。
2. 海德格中期哲學的存有及存有真理觀。
3. 海德格對時間與空間的觀點。
4. 海德格的哲學與形上學立場。

"Philosophical Essays" can be called Heidegger's second major work after "Sein und Zeit, Being and Time". He writes in the form of a short essay, starting with "Prospect", with six seams and a musical fugue (Fugen) as the main melody in the middle, and finally ending with "Being", which constitutes Heidegger's thinking on the history of existence after his mid-philosophy (1930s and after). This book is an important work in the "turn" of Heidegger's thought, from basic ontology to departure from foundation, from transcendence to the integration of existence (Ereignen), from the traditional philosophical way of thinking to the innovation of philosophical thinking through creation (poetry), and the practice of existential truth through language. This course will understand through study and topic oral discussion how Heidegger's mid-term philosophy completely overcomes the metaphysics of the subject and how the temporality of existence itself (the truth of existence) directly interrogates existence itself. Based on Heidegger's philosophical turn in the middle period and the innovation of philosophical thinking through creation, not only has a new page of contemporary philosophy been opened, but Heidegger has also given new definitions of the relationship between art and truth.
Since the "Philosophical Treatise" is a rethinking of "Being and Time", and its fragmented and repetitive exposition style makes it difficult for beginners of Heidegger's philosophy to enter the "Philosophical Treatise", it is necessary to rely on the guidance of the course and joint reading and discussion to understand:
1. Characteristics and methodological characteristics of Heidegger’s mid-term philosophy.
2. Heidegger’s view of existence and existential truth in his mid-term philosophy.
3. Heidegger’s views on time and space.
4. Heidegger’s philosophical and metaphysical stance.
