本課程選讀現當代西方從語言、心理與文化社會等角度出發所發展出的文論與方法，希望藉此來拓展我們對文學的形式與歷史性之探討。同學應時時以自己關懷的中國文學問題為例來檢視理論與方法的適用性。

授課具體內容見課程進度表，大致包括：（1）俄國形式主義與結構主義，（2）現象學、詮釋學與接受美學，（3）符號學、解構批評，（4）精神（心理）分析（5）文化、性別與後殖民文評。

This course selects literary theories and methods developed in the modern and contemporary West from the perspectives of language, psychology, culture and society, hoping to expand our discussion of the form and history of literature. Students should always examine the applicability of theories and methods using examples of Chinese literary issues they care about.
