Through theoretical explanations, formative discussions, practical application and other programs, students will explore the interactive impact between language, cognitive operation and cultural thinking, and will clearly understand the thinking model and social and cultural connotation. From then on, students develop their thinking ability in language, literature and cultural analysis.

Course Description

Knowledge is a psychological behavior or process that gains knowledge and understanding through thinking, experience and various sensory organs. Research in cognitive science has found that most conceptual systems are essentially metaphorical, and we have constructed the way we observe things, think and act, which is the basis of our thinking, language, behavior, history, and culture. Metaphor is not just a skill in revision, but part of the human concept system. This understanding not only helps to understand the ways in which human thinking operates, but also helps to understand the characteristics and commonalities of various cultures, explore our world more deeply, and expand research vision.
