教育目標 Course Target

This course provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn to act sophisticatedly as well as intellectually in job hunting and career planning. Students taking this class can rejuvenate their lives for career success via the learned skills, including real & fake jobs verification, information about head hunters, self-promoting strategies, English resume and cover letter writing, big companies’ recruitment process, job interviews preparation, salary negotiation strategies, and solutions for struggling careers. The students will be immersed in effective classroom activities such as mock interviews and teacher-student writing conferences for the gaining of relevant experiences. This course is interdisciplinary, allowing the ELC to provide THU students with chances to improve their English language proficiency as well as to plan their careers. Many college students are aware of the importance of career planning yet they may not have clear ideas how to plan it. Most courses offered by their academic programs are aimed for developing discipline-specific knowledge instead of job hunting skills. This course, through career-focused training, reinforces their skills in job hunting. They can better understand the employment situation in the global job market. Although the course content revolves around career planning and employment situation, it also enhances the students’ English language proficiency as the course will be conducted in English language and the use of the course materials will also be English-only texts.
