This course covers the history of Western art music in early 20th- to the present. Last sequence of the 3-year survey in music history, this course will place greater emphasis on the issues of: a) how the modernists relates to the Classic and Romantic music traditions; b) in what ways modern composers claimed themselves to be innovative and revolutionary.
