當代資本主義社會立基於十八十九世紀以降一系列的技術物的發明與使用,蒸汽機打破了人力與獸力的限制,鐵路與火車使民族國家及隨之形成的國內市場成為可能,電力系統與生產的機械促成了工業生產的穩定擴大,晚近以來,資訊科技的發展更使全球化加速進行。然而技術物不僅是構成了我們日常生活中的物質結構,重塑了人際互動的關係結構。居家生活中的科技運用,不僅改變了對生活品質的要求,同時也使在家庭女傭的需求快速的消失。大量生產系統的普及化,促成了普羅工人取代工匠,成為生產的主力。
本課程聚焦於技術物的發展與使用及其對當代社會的衝擊,並區分為三個部分:首先,介紹技術的社會建構、使用者的詮釋彈性、技術物的政治性及大形技術系統等的基本概念。其次,聚焦於工作現場與家庭這兩個日常生活中最核心的場景,討論因技術的變遷而引發的衝擊。最後,聚焦技術與人際互動、地方知識、國族認同及公眾參與/民主生活等不同面向的互動。
The contemporary capitalist society is based on the invention and use of a series of technical objects since the 189th century. Steam machines have broken the limitations of manpower and beast force. Railways and trains have made national countries and the domestic market formed by it. The power system and the machinery produced have promoted the stable expansion of industrial production. Recently, the development of information technology has accelerated globalization. However, technical objects not only form material structures in our daily lives, reshaping the relationship structure of human interaction. The use of technology in home life not only changes the requirements for quality of life, but also causes the demand for girls in the family to disappear quickly. The popularization of a large number of production systems has led to the replacement of craftsmen by ordinary workers and becoming the main force in production.
This course focuses on the development and use of technical objects and its impact on contemporary society, and is divided into three parts: First, it introduces the basic concepts of the social structure of technology, the user's interpretation, the political nature of technical objects, and the large-scale technical system. Secondly, focus on the two most core scenes in daily life, work scenes and family, and discuss the impact caused by the changes in technology. Finally, focus on interactions in different aspects such as technology and human interaction, local knowledge, national identity, and public participation/democratic life.
