The main content of this course is to apply economic analysis methods to issues related to the labor market and discuss how to effectively allocate human resources. The course first introduces the basic models of labor supply and demand in traditional labor economics, discusses how labor wages are determined and possible discrimination against gender or ethnicity in the labor market. In addition, it will also discuss individuals’ choices in education in the human capital model and its impact on the entire economic system. In the course, you will further understand the relevant theories in labor economics and their policy implications by observing actual data related to human capital. Accordingly, the prerequisites for this course are economics (especially personal economics) and statistics. The course will be conducted using multiple teaching methods and requires students to actually participate in class activities. Therefore, sometimes there will be designated tasks before and after class, and they will be announced on the classroom or online classroom bulletin board. Please pay attention to this.
