Mendel's Dream：The developing History of Molecular Biology
教育目標 Course Target
今日我們視為當然的一些生物學知識，以及與它密切相關的社會觀與人生觀，是來自一場二十世紀的科學大革命。本課程探討1930–1970 年時期的這段學術與思想的革命。我們將追循分子生物學崛起時期，科學家如何從物理及化學的角度切入生物學，塑造全新的遺傳理論，更將資訊學的思考帶入生命科學。此外，我們還要討論這些新發展對學術思想與人文哲學的衝擊。
Some of the biological knowledge we take for granted today, as well as the social outlook and outlook on life closely related to it, come from the scientific revolution of the twentieth century. This course explores the intellectual and intellectual revolution of the period 1930–1970. We will follow the rise of molecular biology, how scientists entered biology from the perspective of physics and chemistry, shaped a new genetic theory, and brought informatics thinking into the life sciences. In addition, we discuss the impact of these new developments on academic thought and humanistic philosophy.
