藉由現代散文作品的閱讀，使學生認識現代散文在題材與風格上的多樣面貌，在賞析作品的同時，也訓練了學生分析與理解作品的能力，並經由寫作的練習鍛鍊自己的語文表達與書寫能力。課程進行以選讀現代散文作品為主。期中考試前以閱讀散文的各種類型為課程進行方式，期中考後則以「主題式」作品的閱讀欣賞為課程進行方式。在各類作品的閱讀外，視課程進度做散文的寫作練習與優秀作品發表。期望能以「讀寫並行」的方式進行課程。

Through the reading of modern prose works, students can understand the diverse aspects of modern prose in terms of subject matter and style. While appreciating the works, it also trains students' ability to analyze and understand the works, and through writing exercises, they can hone their Chinese expression and writing skills. The course mainly focuses on reading modern prose works. Before the mid-term exam, the course will be conducted by reading various types of prose, and after the mid-term exam, the course will be conducted by reading and appreciating "thematic" works. In addition to reading various works, students will also practice prose writing and publish excellent works according to the progress of the course. It is hoped that the course can be conducted in a "parallel reading and writing" manner.
