本課程為中文系必修課程，作為研讀國學以至掌握古文明的工具學科。主要介紹中國文字的字形、字義和演變歷史，讓同學對於本國文字有一正確的認識，從而加強同學對於本國文學，以至於文化的了解。
文字學是中文學科中最接近科學的一門課程，強調訓練學生判別字形的正確方向，掌握文字的真正解讀。本課程能增強學生邏輯思維，值科學方法的訓練，增加學生在學習上的自信心。
This course is a compulsory course in the Chinese department and is used as a tool for studying and mastering ancient civilizations. It mainly introduces the shape, meaning and evolutionary history of Chinese characters, so that students can have a correct understanding of their own characters, thereby enhancing their understanding of their own literature and even culture.
Character studies are the closest courses in Chinese language subjects to science, which emphasize the correct direction of students in determining the shape of characters and master the true interpretation of characters. This course can enhance students' logical thinking, focus on the training of scientific methods, and increase students' self-confidence in learning.
