本課程建立於對古典詩歷時性發展與作家經典作品選讀的基礎上，再透過由閱讀經驗累積的情意感受能力與掌握格律體製的認知能力，進行實際的寫作練習。閱讀古典詩，不惟是審美心靈的涵養，經由對詩人所處時代情境、面臨生命課題的闡釋，引領學生理解詩人如何透過文字去介入、回應，期使學生能夠在詩歌的閱讀中，對內在自我有更真切的理解與觀照。最後，在實際的課程參與中，建立對古典詩歌詮釋與批評的基礎素養。

This course is based on the diachronic development of classical poetry and the selection of writers' classic works, and then carries out practical writing exercises through the emotional feeling ability accumulated through reading experience and the cognitive ability to master the metrical system. Reading classical poetry not only cultivates the aesthetic mind, but also leads students to understand how the poet intervenes and responds through words through the interpretation of the situation of the times and the life issues faced by the poet. It is hoped that students can have a more realistic understanding and reflection of their inner self during the reading of poetry. Finally, through actual course participation, basic literacy in the interpretation and criticism of classical poetry will be established.
