The Philosophy of Architectural
教育目標 Course Target
The main objective of this course is to introduce students to various aspects of academic texts on the theoretical philosophy of architectural design. Students will be introduced to the features of academic texts. They will also read different kinds of academic texts related to architectural theory and philosophy and discuss the contents of these texts. Students will learn to approach academic texts on architectural theory critically and at the same time strengthen their skills in reading, analyzing and discussing these books and articles. Active participation is essential to the success of this class.
1. Geometric Paradigm in Architectural Philosophy 2. Architectural Crisis and Paradigm Shift towards Machine Aesthetic 3. From Paradigm Shift of Expressionism to Deconstructive Architecture 4. Return to Architectural Ontology and Transcendental Phenomenology 5. Phenomenology of Body Experience 6. Freedom of Architectural Language Expression 7. From Social Communication of Architectural Structuralism to Users’ Presiding Over 8. The role of Architect as a Social Cultural Critique

課程概述 Course Description
In order to meet the training objectives of critical thinking, dialectic discourse and international cross cultural visions within the departmental curriculum, this course intends to introduce several Philosophical paradigms on architectural theory to raise questions to students and requires them to present their critical ideas on this fundamental issue within the scope of dialectic philosophies on architectural design. This lecture will be conducted in English mainly and the main contents consists of the following major items:
1. Discourse of Paradigm Shift of Western Architecture
2. Informal Paradigm Shift of Eastern Architecture
3. Phenomenology and Environmental Perceptions
4. Freedom of Architectural Expression
5. Structure and Order of Urbanism
6. Modern Utopia of Western Urbanity on Trial
7. Reconnecting Architecture of Eastern Alternatives
8. Toward an Architectural Futurology
