Teaching Purpose: The social work management topic aims to introduce, compare, and discuss the topics that are exposed to in the current social work organization's operations, including concepts and even actual operations. We hope that through discussion and teaching in the course, on the one hand, we will sort out the Western management knowledge we have learned in the past; on the other hand, we will combine the experience of the organizational life that is embedded in the cultural structure of the Chinese people, and learn to think about how to face and deal with the topics that may be encountered in the organizational life in the future through repeated case comparisons, discussions, and clarifications.
Main content: In this course, there are three main contents:
1. Discussion on the essence of management in crowd services. Among them, there are issues related to the historical development of management definitions, population service management, general business management, and even related ideas.
2. Thinking about managing activities that need to be comprehensive. It includes how to create an environment that can promote professional growth and improve service quality through activities such as leadership, planning, organization, personnel, and financial services.
3. Finally, it is the conversation between other management responsibilities and successful managers.
In the course, we tried to compare how the Chinese culture views the essence of management, how to operate and manage, and how to think about successful managers in each topic. Through comparison, we look forward to finding out more possibilities for social work management.
The social work face requires the performance test of all sectors and improves the performance based on management, so that the service of social work is more effective. The wave of management has not subsided for many years, and even the social worker services that value people the most must be introduced into management and accepted management. Why? Because management can help social work. Any social worker should understand management when he is engaged in social work, regardless of whether what he is doing is direct or intercommunicate or other services.
Management allows social workers to provide professional services more efficiently, so that clients and society can receive more help. When social workers play the role of managers, management is a tool that they must be familiar with.
Social work management itself is a new subject, mainly relying on knowledge, theory and skills in management, organizational theory, organizational behavior, etc. But when these are applied to various types of social welfare organizations, there are many questions worth pondering and reviewing. Management has global content and must also consider localization. Therefore, in addition to introducing important management concepts, this course will discuss the management of institutions related to Taiwan's social work in many aspects.
"Social Work Management" is to explain the management of foundations, associations and social welfare institutions, and can also be used in schools, educational organizations, religious organizations, private groups, community development associations, etc. This course analyzes "management", not just "manager", and focuses on discussions on matters.
The focus is "organization management". The focus is not plan management, nor is it about how to manage people or yourself, but to enable organizations to operate efficiently and effectively.
The theme of the course is "management" rather than "administration". Administration is biased towards the public department and is restricted by more laws and regulations. Management requires more innovation.
This course is dedicated to students of the judiciary class, hoping to help judiciary become an intermediate manager in the organization after their birthday.
