Taiwan: A Social and Economic History
教育目標 Course Target
本課程將探討以下問題：
• 台灣的經濟方面，社會方面和政治方面的挑戰和前景如何？
• “台灣人” 有什麼意義？
• 什麼是“台灣價值”，並且它們歷史上怎樣改變了？
• 作為一個人，作為一個台灣人，而作為一個世界公民，什麼是我的價值觀？
• 作為一個世界公民，什麼是我的個人認同？
This course will explore the following questions:
• What are the challenges and prospects of Taiwan’s economic, social and political aspects?
• What does "Taiwanese" mean?
• What is "Taiwan Value" and how have they changed in history?
• As a person, as a Taiwanese, and as a citizen of the world, what is my value?
• As a citizen of the world, what is my personal identity?
參考書目 Reference Books
這門課程有閱讀材料。可以在網上找到，否則將在課堂上分發。我們將閱讀兩本由美國作家新書的一部分，反映西方人怎麼看台灣。這兩本書將在打印或pdf文件提供。
This course has reading materials. Can be found online or will be distributed in class. We will read two new books by American writers, reflecting how Westerners watch Taiwan. These two books will be provided in print or pdf files.
