具體的說明西方古典建築文化的本質和特色，讓同學瞭解古羅馬的建築發展與文化的關係，作為進認識西方文藝復興建築與文化發展的基礎；並可進一步的認識古羅馬建築文化和中國建築文化的異同，增加對中西文化認識的深度。
依古羅馬歷史演變，將建築的發展和文化的關係做清楚的說明，分析在每一個重大的建設成就後皆有豐富的文化內涵和堅實的社會特質作為基礎。此外，並將古羅馬的一些建設成就和中國的建築文化(城市和民居）做對比性的說明，增加對中西建築文化瞭解的深度。Detailed explanation of the nature and characteristics of Western classical architectural culture, allowing students to understand the relationship between ancient Roman architecture development and culture, as a foundation for further understanding of the rejuvenation of Western cultural and cultural development; and further understanding the differences between ancient Roman architecture culture and Chinese architectural culture, and increasing the depth of understanding of Chinese and Western cultures.
