4. 擴展學生宇宙性的視野與關懷詩之為詩, 乃因它精鍊, 又深扣人心. 詩人巧妙運用詩的元素, 包括用字, 聲音, 意象, 修辭, 節拍, 韻律等等, 來傳達他的旨意. 授課教師上課第二週概括性介紹過個個元素之後, 便會在往後的每一週, 挑選最經典的短詩, 來說明每樣元素特有的巧妙效果.
詩, 小說, 戲劇乃文學之三大類型. 或寫實或虛構, 或兩者兼具. 文學家本著特有的藝術視野 “artistic vision” 將虛虛實實剪裁創作, 目的時而抒發己意, 時而反映社會人生, 時而更能呈現普世
的永恆真理, 進而拓廣讀者視野, 掌握生命價值. 同學亦可藉此培育求真、篤信、力行、及宏通的素養.
而詩與樂息息相關, 讀到富有感情或音韻之美時, 課堂上也會穿插朗讀. 學期結束前, 希望同學能踴躍朗讀出自己喜愛的一二首詩篇,(有 bonus points哦!) 同學分析與闡釋詩文, 可以增進英文閱讀能力, 更能深入體會人生; 朗讀詩歌則可訓練發音, 語流, 與情感的表達.
老師授課與討論以中文為主, 上課方式包括演講, 導讀, 同學分組討論, 最後由老師帶領全班做最後的賞析與結論.1. Cultivate the reading habits that should be possessed by reading literary works
