教育目標 Course Target
本課程主要以工業設計的觀點探討公共空間中各種與使用者相關的「產品/服務/系統」的設計,教學目標乃是希望引導學生主動關心與自身生活息息相關的公共領域,並能運用設計思考去檢視公共面向的公眾使用問題,且養成洞察問題、建立論述、提出對策方案的能力。同時,期望透過本課程的學習,提高工業設計領域學生未來投入與公共設計相關工作的意願,使現今仍屬建築、景觀、公共行政領域專家主導的公共設計能獲得更多元化的設計能量,為社會多數使用者提供高品質的設計服務。除了公共設計相關學理知識講授之外,亦導入服務學習概念,以設計團隊模式進入東海大學鄰近社區進行田野研究,透過設計思考檢視社區內之公共設計現狀,並針對問題提出改善設計提案,同時運用學術與社區相關資源進行設計實踐。
This course mainly explores the design of various user-related "products/services/systems" in public spaces from the perspective of industrial design. The teaching goal is to guide students to actively care about the public areas that are closely related to their own lives, and to use design thinking to examine public-facing public use issues, and to develop the ability to discern problems, establish arguments, and propose countermeasures. At the same time, it is hoped that through the study of this course, students in the field of industrial design will be more willing to engage in public design-related work in the future, so that public design, which is still dominated by experts in the fields of architecture, landscape, and public administration, can obtain more diversified design energy and provide high-quality design services to the majority of users in society. In addition to teaching the academic knowledge related to public design, the concept of service learning is also introduced, and a design team model is used to conduct field research in the communities adjacent to Tunghai University. Through design thinking, the current situation of public design in the community is examined, and design improvement proposals are proposed to address the problems. At the same time, academic and community-related resources are used to conduct design practice.
課程概述 Course Description
設計的本質是服務眾多使用者的需求,然而當代設計專業知能卻多數用以服務企業獲取經濟利益,忽略了許多社會公益的問題。因此,本課程盼能以社會設計的概念出發,探討公共環境中各種與使用者相關之設施或設備設計案例,思辨工業設計的專業知能如何介入公共環境,如何運用設計力改善不特定多數使用者在公共場域遭遇的生活議題,進而培養自我對公共事務的人文關懷,建立對公共設計的概念與主張。
The essence of design is to serve the needs of many users. However, contemporary design expertise is mostly used to serve enterprises to obtain economic benefits, ignoring many social welfare issues. Therefore, this course hopes to start from the concept of social design, explore various user-related facilities or equipment design cases in the public environment, think about how the professional knowledge of industrial design can intervene in the public environment, and how to use design power to improve the life issues encountered by an unspecified majority of users in public places, and then cultivate one's own humanistic care for public affairs and establish concepts and opinions on public design.
