內涵
社會工作最簡單的定義是「助人的專業」，要助人，先要瞭解幫助的人。在台灣，有一些人口群特別需要幫助---兒童、青少年、婦女、老人、身心障礙者、新住民。所以，我們要先認識幫助這些朋友的專業社會工作方法。老師會透過具體的方案、實際服務的機構來說明。社會工作是一種專業，專業需學習，更需實踐。在學習方面，從學士、碩士到博士，國內與國外的學習管道應有所認識，尤其是實習，各階段乃至課餘志工的投入，都很重要。本課程會詳加介紹。
專業須持續做，以累積豐富的經驗。本課程對各種社會工作者的專業生涯有所介紹，尤其是在非營利組織、政府體系的，也詳細說明如何探索、規劃與執行。Target

Connotation
The simplest definition of social work is "a professional who helps others". To help others, you must first understand the helping people. In Taiwan, there are some population groups that need help in particular--children, teenagers, women, the elderly, physically and mentally disabled, and new residents. So, we must first understand the professional social work methods that help these friends. The teacher will explain through specific plans and practical service institutions. Social work is a profession, and it requires learning and even more practical. In terms of learning, from bachelor's degree to doctoral degree, domestic and foreign learning pipelines should have some understanding, especially in practice, the investment of volunteers at all levels and even courses is very important. This course will be introduced in detail.
Professional work must continue to accumulate rich experience. This course introduces the professional careers of various social workers, especially in non-profit organizations and government systems, and also provides detailed explanations on how to explore, plan and execute.
什麼是社會工作？這是所有社會工作實務工作者、學習者、乃至教育者的不斷追問。在大學第一年裡，我們將要針對這個問題，進行概論性的介紹。它主要包括社會工作的意義與緣起、社會工作專業化的歷程、社會工作專業所涉及的價值與倫理、社會工作主要的服務方法、以及針對不同人口群的實務處遇方法等內容。透過這些內容的引介，我們期望可以引發社會工作新生的熱忱與興趣、培養同學由社會工作角度關切社會問題的能力與態度，以便為日後的學習作好初步的準備。
What is social work? This is the constant pursuit of all social work practical workers, learners, and even educators. In our first year of college, we will give a general introduction to this problem. It mainly includes the meaning and development of social work, the process of professionalization of social work, the value and ethics involved in social work, the main service methods of social work, and the practical encounter methods for different population groups. Through the introduction of these contents, we hope to attract the enthusiasm and interest of new students in social work and cultivate the ability and attitude of students to pay attention to social problems from the perspective of social work, so as to make preliminary preparations for future learning.
