2. 引導學生探索現代資本主義的誕生過程，也期待學生在此探索的過程，慢慢探尋自己的安生立命之道。
3. 全面性地認識現代資本主義在政治、經濟、社會與自然環境所引起的矛盾與災難。
4. 更為重要之處，就是要引導學生去面對深陷於現代資本主義矛盾的當代企業－正面對著人類古典價值式微的處境，進而引導學生想像當代企業社會價值的發展方向。資本主義無疑已經與現代社會幾乎是同義辭了，對於當代社會造成重大的影響，不論是政治、經濟、社會乃至自然環境都造成重大的影響，甚至可能是毀滅性的影響。但是資本主義與科學發展的結合也造就了人類前所未有的繁榮與物質性的幸福。不過人類真的就此而得到了真正的幸福嗎？顯然沒有。但是人類對於資本主義的發展卻是顯得束手無策，為何變得如此？人類對於資本主義算是愛恨交加。
現代資本主義的特質是任何一位社會學系的學生所必須認真理解的概念，本課程特別以資本主義作為課程的主題，不僅僅是想引導學生認識現代資本主義的特質之外，更重要的是希望引導學生全面性地認識現代資本主義對於人類當代社會的重大影響，同時也一起反思當代社會正深陷於資本主義之中－貪婪成為一種正當性的價值之後，人類社會該何去何從？人類的古典價值該如何重建，這正是本課程最重要的課題。1. Understand the difference between pre-capitalism and modern capitalism.

3. Comprehensively understand the contradictions and disasters caused by modern capitalism in politics, economy, society and the natural environment.

What is more important is to guide students to face contemporary enterprises that are deeply trapped in the contradiction of modern capitalism - face the situation where the classical value of human beings is declining, and thus guide students to imagine the development direction of the social value of contemporary enterprises. Capitalism is undoubtedly almost synonymous with modern society, and it has a significant impact on contemporary society, whether it is politics, economy, society and even the natural environment, or even a destructive impact. However, the combination of capitalism and scientific development has also created unprecedented prosperity and material happiness in humans. But has humans really achieved true happiness? Obviously not. But humans are so helpless about the development of capitalism. Why is this so? Humans are considered to be in love with capitalism.
The characteristics of modern capitalism are concepts that any student in the social department must understand carefully. This course specifically takes capitalism as the theme of the course. It is not only intended to guide students to understand the characteristics of modern capitalism, but more importantly I hope to guide students to comprehensively understand the significant impact of modern capitalism on contemporary human society, and at the same time reflect on the fact that contemporary society is deeply trapped in the capitalism - where should human society go after greed becomes a legitimate value? How to reconstruct the classical value of humans is the most important topic of this course.
