本課程的內容，在於以「政治（公共）生活」為核心，介紹、分析西方自古希臘以來政治想家有關政治生活的觀念（ideas）。一方面從歷史的縱向，依思想家所處年代的時間先後順序，介紹西方主要政治思想家的政治觀念；其次是以歷來與公共生活相關的幾個主要政治觀念（概念）？如國家、政府、統治正當性、政治領導、革命、自然法、自然權利、法律主治（rule of law）、社會契約論、民主政治等等，就相關政治哲學家對同一個議題或概念的見解、論點，加以比較、分析。

The content of this course is to focus on "political (public) life" and introduce and analyze the concepts (ideas) of political homesickness in the West since ancient times. On the one hand, from the direction of history, according to the time of the thinker's time, we introduce the political concepts of major Western political thinkers; secondly, we introduce the political concepts (concepts) related to public life through experience? Such as states, governments, political leadership, revolution, natural law, natural rights, legal dominance (rule of law), social contracts, democratic politics, etc., they compare and analyze the views and points of the same topic or concept by relevant political philosophers.
